Meet Dr. Neil Reilly(Chiropractor)

An Introduction to Chiropractic

Dr Neil ReillyBack in the 1970’s when Neil was at school there were more chiropractors in New York than the whole of Europe. One of Neil’s teachers told the class of his amazing success with the treatment he had received from a parent who was a chiropractor. Neil went to have a chat with the chiropractor parent who was both a medical doctor and a chiropractor. This conversation inspired Neil to become a chiropractor.

“The simplicity of chiropractic made perfect sense to me, even as a schoolboy. The idea of mobilising joints and removing nerve irritation seemed like an amazingly simple and effective solution.” When the chiropractor parent retired, he became a patient of Neil’s.

A Thorough Education in Natural Healing

Neil attended the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic. During his time there, he saw patients as a student intern. A man came in with a disc prolapse, in a great deal of pain that ran down his leg. Neil received specific instructions from the tutor on precisely how to adjust the patient. The instant results the man got enabled him to jump up and have remarkable improvement. “It was a really moving moment. This person was helped so quickly when initially, I thought he might have to resort to an operation.”

Upon graduation in 1987, Neil was one of few chiropractors in the UK. He began working in a prestigious clinic whose owner went on to become the president of the European Chiropractic Association. Neil’s early practice years were greatly influenced by this man.

A Customised Approach to Helping You

Years later, Neil ran the largest multidisciplinary office in the county with other chiropractors, physical therapists, a rehabilitation trainer, acupuncturist, homeopath, podiatrist and massage therapists. To this day, Neil works well with many practitioners in his network and is happy to refer his patients to them when necessary.

I’ve been in practice for nearly 30 years. Once, I was the youngest chiropractor in the UK. My life goal is to work until I’m the oldest.”

It’s important to Neil that he has several tools available to help his patients. He has taken courses on Sacro Occipital Technique® (SOT®), Gonstead and rehabilitation to have more options that allow him to customise his care to each individual patient.

A Busy, Family-Oriented Life

When he’s not in the practice, Neil stays busy. Neil has grown up children and enjoys keeping up on rugby. He’s the former starting Hooker for the London Irish at U21 level and his three sons were all keen players.

Neil’s wife Tracey is a trained reflexologist, Arvigo practitioner and yoga teacher. You can find out more about her on www.sunnytummies.co.uk/.

Neil grew up in Surbiton where his parents ran the Waggon & Horses public house from 1967 to 2002. He enjoys serving his home area and works with a semi-pro cycling team, looking after elite cyclists. His keen interest in chiropractic has extended to an invention called the eyeprone, which allows you to lie comfortably face down on a bed. With the eyeprone, you can comfortably use your iPad or read a book while lying down after work or receiving a massage. It works wonderfully for icing acute pains!

He’s also created a mobile application called Foto Bomb International, which he hopes to launch soon.

Neil offers early and late appointment hours to accommodate your schedule. Contact us today to get started!
