Rehabilitation

A Rehabilitation is concerned with restoring musco-skeletal function in patients with sub-acute, chronic and recurrent conditions in a safe and controlled environment. Rehabilitation attempts to prevent and manage injury through functional progressive exercise – always designed to meet individual patient needs. The main aim of a rehabilitation programme is to: Restore full range of motion, Restore or increase muscular strength endurance and power, Re-establish neuro-muscular control, Improve balance, Maintain cardio-respiratory fitness and postural re-education.

Frequency: An initial rehabilitation assessment lasts for one hour in which your condition will be assessed and the findings used to outline an exercise programme individually tailored to meet your needs in order to develop an ongoing exercise habit. A rehabilitation course lasts 6 weeks and consists of two one-hour sessions each week.

Benefits: Rehabilitation can be beneficial for anyone with an injury, especially for chronic or recurrent mechanical low back pain.
