Pilates is a technique which requires focus, concentration and the working of the bodies’ deepest muscles to build up strength. As a beginner you learn to build a strong centre - isolating one set of muscles whilst being able to release others; for example doing sit-ups using the upper abdominal muscles without engaging the back or neck muscles and moving without pain or stress. Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Frequency: Weekly, but may be performed daily in your own time once you have mastered the necessary skills and techniques.
